I have been thatching for the past 20 years. After 5 years of training in the art of thatching, I finally felt ready to spread my wings. Leaving the familiar landscapes of Dartmoor behind, I journeyed to Cornwall to continue my apprenticeship as a journeyman. Under the tutelage of Sam Carnell and other Master Thatchers, I honed my skills and gained invaluable experience. I thatched throughout the countryside of the South of England, learning the unique styles of thatching in each region. But it is the beauty of the wild Cornish coast that I love. The crashing waves, the salty air, and the ever-changing weather. Now as a Master Thatcher I take great pride in my work. Carefully crafted with skill and intent using the finest natural materials. My aim is to create something truly extraordinary, a roof that not only looks stunning but stands the test of time. Preserving the ancient craft of thatching and keeping you my clients dry and warm.
